The cold weather has set in and that is impetus to stay indoors and create. Looking to continually experiment with some new ideas for non-objective work…keeping loose and intuitive despite my tendency to make the same marks and shapes. Have to remember to paint differences and to edit more! Hopefully I can do that…
Now that the holidays are over I am happy to be back painting. Finishing up some abstract work and preparing some submissions. The painting below is one of the several that are completed.
Now that the holidays are over I am happy to be back painting. I am preparing new work, both non-objective and abstract and experimenting as usual. A few submissions for shows are in the works! Here is “Setting Sun”, a new abstract. Hope you enjoy it!

I am looking forward to taking part in the Mary Allen Studio Tour (MAST) in Kitchener-Waterloo along with artist Susan Campbell. Dates are Friday, September 29 (7-10), Saturday September 30 (10-5) and Sunday October 1 (12-4). I will be showing painting and collage, all different sizes, and Susan will be showing her amazing hand-made billfolds, purses, bags and scarves. We are located at 130 Union Blvd right at the end of Belmont Village (where there are great places to eat lunch and dinner). Hope to see you there…come for a visit!
My next big event is participating in the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (TOAE). I will be showing landscape painting that investigates climate change. Unpredictable weather and celestial omens in these paintings signal changes in the environment through strong colour, movement and shape. The TOAE runs July 14(10-7), 15(10-7) and 16(10-5) in Nathan Philips Square in downtown Toronto. See www.torontooutdoor.art for more information. I look forward to seeing old and new friends at my booth in the Plaza, Booth 60.
I am pleased to be part of the new Stratford Studio Tour which opens on Friday, May 19, 7-9:30 PM and then continuing on through Saturday and Sunday, the 20th and 21st, from 10-5 PM. I will be showing at site #5, just around the corner from the ‘Soup Place’ in the atrium of the UofW Stratford Campus. Looking forward to meeting new friends and showing them both my landscape and abstract painting.

I am at site #5 just around the corner from the ‘Soup Place’. www.stratfordstudiotour.ca for more info.
