The cold weather has set in and that is impetus to stay indoors and create. Looking to continually experiment with some new ideas for non-objective work…keeping loose and intuitive despite my tendency to make the same marks and shapes. Have to remember to paint differences and to edit more! Hopefully I can do that…

Guelph Studio Tour 2016

I will be showing both small and large works at the Guelph Studio Tour 2016, October 14-16.  I will be sharing a large space with some other artists; we will be at  the Dublin Street Church, corner of Suffolk and Dublin, Guelph, Ontario.  Hours are Friday (14th) from 7-9 PM, Saturday (15th) 10-6 and Sunday (16th) 11-5.  For more info on the whole studio tour see www.guelphstudiotour.ca  .   Would love to see old and new friends…pop in to say “hello” and enjoy all the wonderful art from a group of artists.  See  realistic, expressionistic, and abstract  and mixed media paintings

Dorland-Haight Gallery in Milton

New paintings going into Dorland-Haight Gallery in Milton today.  This is a joint show with Tom Dietrich and Sarah Joncas and the opening is Saturday, May 28th from 6-9 PM.  I will be showing my acrylic paintings on canvas along with mixed-media paintings showcasing  strong contrast, colour and an intuitive approach.  Look forward to seeing old and new friends!  Come out for the fun.   The show runs until June 25th.smalldelightII smalldelightI

“no time for small talk”

I am having a show and sale of my abstract paintings ‘no time for small talk’  at the Spotted Moose Emporium in Mount Forest from August 1-September 2, 2013.  The gallery is located at 224 Main Street North in Mount Forest, ON.  Hours are:  Sun, Mon, Thurs 12-6; Friday 12-8 and Saturday 10-5.  I am having a formal opening (well, maybe not so formal) on Friday, August 2, 6-8.  Of special interest: The Gallery is on the ‘Butter Tart Trail’ and on Sundays enjoy taking part!  If you Google the Spotted Moose Emporium you will come up with even more information about this Gallery.  ©Nancy Farrell-Intrados
