This has been a busy fall with shows at Atmosphere in Guelph and Manhatten’s in Guelph (on until April 8) and a show up at the Vault in Fergus, ON which is still there until the first part of April. Coming up soon I will be a guest artist at the Art District Art Gallery in Kitchener. More details later, but I will have my first showing of my Yukon paintings…really looking forward to that.
This was a busy fall, first participating in the Mary Allen STudio Tour in Kitchener, Second, with the Guelph Studio Tour where I was showing at Dublin Church in October with 8 other artists, and then with ArtsPay in Kitchener. I also had a solo show at Atmosphere in Guelph where my larger abstract paintings looked so good on their stone walls. Unfortunately life interfered with a lot of these shows and I was unable to send out my usual update via a newsletter.
Now I am looking at new possibilities, new galleries, new venues and e-commerce. As soon as new exhibitions are organized I will have an update of events.
“Fresh Air…Fresh Art” is an exhibition and sale by 13 artists in a lovely country setting just outside Ariss. Painting, sculpture, Found material, print and artistic blacksmithy will be on display Saturday, June 9, 10-5; Sunday, June 10, 10-3. We are only 15 minutes from Guelph at #5824 Sixth Line East. Head up the Elmira Road from Highway 7 (woodlawn rd) and turn right on #51 to Ariss and then continue on to the sixth line east. I will have abstract painting as well as landscape work, with the usual emphasis on colour and mark making! Hope to see you there.
Getting ready for the Guelph Studio Tour which opens this weekend: Friday, Oct 13 7-9, Oct 14 10-6 and Oct 15 11-5. I will be at Dublin Church, corner of Suffolk and Dublin in Guelph downtown area. I will be showing painting and collage, all different sizes, and Susan will be showing her amazing hand-made billfolds, purses, bags and scarves. My next big event is participating in the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (TOAE). I will be showing landscape painting that investigates climate change. Unpredictable weather and celestial omens in these paintings signal changes in the environment through strong colour, movement and shape. The TOAE runs July 14(10-7), 15(10-7) and 16(10-5) in Nathan Philips Square in downtown Toronto. See www.torontooutdoor.art for more information. I look forward to seeing old and new friends at my booth in the Plaza, Booth 60.
